Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Programme at Landmark Institute of Education Science and Technology (LIEST) is designed to provide students with practical and theoretical knowledge in computer systems, networking, software applications, programming, database management, web development, and information systems.

Programme Objectives

The programme aims to develop skilled ICT professionals capable of designing, implementing, managing and maintaining information systems and communication technologies. Students gain hands-on experience with modern computer technologies required in today's digital world.

NTA Level 4 - Basic Technician Certificate in ICT

Students are introduced to computer fundamentals, operating systems, office applications, computer maintenance, networking basics and web technologies. This level builds a strong foundation in ICT skills.

NTA Level 5 - Technician Certificate in ICT

Learners acquire advanced skills in programming, database systems, networking technologies, systems analysis and web development. Practical projects help students develop real-world ICT competencies.

NTA Level 6 - Ordinary Diploma in ICT

This level focuses on software development, network administration, information systems management, cybersecurity fundamentals and ICT project management. Graduates are prepared for professional ICT careers and further studies.

Admission Requirements

  • NTA Level 4: Holder of CSEE with at least four passes.
  • NTA Level 5: Holder of NTA Level 4 Certificate in ICT or equivalent qualification.
  • NTA Level 6: Holder of NTA Level 5 Certificate in ICT or equivalent qualification.

Facilities and Learning Resources

Students have access to computer laboratories, internet facilities, modern software applications and practical training resources that support learning and innovation in technology.

Career Opportunities

Graduates can work as ICT Officers, Computer Technicians, Network Administrators, Database Administrators, Web Developers, Software Developers, System Analysts, IT Support Specialists, Data Entry Officers and ICT Consultants in both public and private sectors.
