The Accountancy Programme at Landmark Institute of Education Science and Technology (LIEST) is designed to equip students with practical and professional knowledge in accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, taxation, business management and financial reporting. The programme prepares graduates to work effectively in both public and private institutions while also providing a strong foundation for further studies and professional development.

The programme aims to develop competent accounting professionals capable of maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, managing business transactions, conducting basic audits and applying accounting principles in decision making. Students are also equipped with entrepreneurship and information technology skills relevant to modern business environments.

This level introduces students to accounting principles, bookkeeping, business communication, entrepreneurship, computer applications and financial record management. It provides a strong foundation for further studies in accountancy and related fields.

At this level students acquire advanced knowledge in financial accounting, cost accounting, business law, taxation, auditing and management principles. Emphasis is placed on practical accounting skills required in workplaces and business organizations.

The Ordinary Diploma programme develops higher-level competencies in financial management, auditing, taxation, accounting information systems and business analysis. Graduates are prepared for supervisory positions and further professional studies in accounting and finance.

Admission into the programme follows the guidelines issued by the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET).

• NTA Level 4: Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four passes including Basic Mathematics.
• NTA Level 5: Holder of NTA Level 4 Certificate in Accountancy or equivalent qualification.
• NTA Level 6: Holder of NTA Level 5 Certificate in Accountancy or equivalent qualification.

Graduates of the Accountancy Programme can work as Accounts Assistants, Accountants, Cashiers, Auditing Assistants, Revenue Officers, Tax Assistants, Finance Officers, Bookkeepers, Procurement and Store Officers, Banking Officers and Business Managers in government institutions, private companies, NGOs and financial organizations.
